TIPTON (KWWL) -

More than 40 years later, the remains of a Vietnam War airman from Iowa will be returned to his family.

Lieutenant Colonel Dennis Eilers was originally listed as missing in action. This spring, remains from Eilers' crew were found near the crash site where his plane was shot down in Vietnam in 1965.

Last weekend, friends and family gathered at the grave site for a symbolic burial in his hometown of Tipton. Now burial services will be held for the six soldiers in a single casket on July 9th at Arlington National Cemetery.
