Marshalltown Police continue to investigate drowning of three children

Marshalltown Police are investigating a reported drowning near the Iowa River near Riverview park.
Police responded to the area at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday for a report of three children missing in the area. The children were last seen swimming in the river.
Authorities quickly began a search and rescue operation with the help of other local emergency response agencies.
After about two and a half hours, authorities found the bodies of three young children. A 9-year-old girl, 7-year-old girl and 7-year-old boy were all pulled from the water. The names of the victims have not been released until all family is notified. Marshalltown police say they continue to investigate the incident.
