Corrections officer assaulted by Coralville inmate

CORALVILLE (KWWL) -

An inmate at a Coralville Correctional Facility is facing assault charges after accusations he attacked a correctional officer in May.

According to our partners at the Iowa City Press-Citizen, Michael Arterburn was accused of attacking an officer at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center on May 5.

Police say Arterburn clawed at the officer's face and head to the point where blood was drawn.

Arterburn had to be restrained by two other officers.

He faces an assault charge.
