State will pay couple millions for delivery negligence

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

The State of Iowa has agreed to pay $3.75 million to settle a lawsuit that claimed negligence by University of Iowa hospital employees.

Jonathon and Martha Fountain of Iowa City filed the suit, accusing the hospital of causing brain injuries to their newborn during child delivery.

The child, now 5, suffers with cerebral palsy and other serious health conditions
