'Wall of Honor' in Clarksville honoring veterans

CLARKSVILLE (KWWL) -

The 4th of July is right around the corner. It's a time when we honor our veterans, but one nursing and rehab center is doing that already.

The Clarksville Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center started a 'Wall of Honor' just last year.

It started as a few photos on a wall, from there it grew to 85 veterans honored.

Each photo has a special connection to the residents living there or people working at the center.

"We have people who will bring in a picture and they are like how soon can you get it up and where is my picture of my grandfather on the wall. They always, you know, hunt down the picture of their loved ones and reading it. We have ones from World War One to current," said Brenda Allan, Office Manager.

Even Specialist Donny Nichols is honored on the wall. His mother Jeanie Nichols works at the Clarksville Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center.

Nichols was 21 years old when he was killed in Afghanistan back in April.
