Man dies after car lands in Delaware Co. river

DELAWARE COUNTY (KWWL) -

A Worthington man is dead after his car went off the road and into a river.

It happened around 8:30 a.m. Sunday on 272nd St. west of Worthington.

The Iowa State Patrol says 64-year-old Robert Jesenovec was headed west when his car when off the road, rolled onto its top and landed in the north fork of the Maquoketa River.

Jesenovic was wearing his seat belt and could not get out of his car.

It's not clear what caused his car to go off the road.
