LINN COUNTY (KWWL) -

A Cedar Rapids man faces charges after troopers say he drove into a parked Iowa State Patrol squad car.

The trooper was parked on the shoulder of I-380 southbound just south of the Center Point exit with the car's emergency lights on.  The trooper was conducting a traffic stop.

Troopers say 39-year-old Joseph Gregory veered onto the shoulder, striking the back of the patrol car.

Gregory is charged with Operating While Intoxicated, and also cited for unsafe approach to an emergency vehicle.
