Quilt show with bed turning at this year's Arlington Days July 7th

ARLINGTON (KWWL) -

"Our motto is every quilt has a story and every story should be told," said Debbie Watson

You can hear some of those stories on Saturday, July 7th during Arlington Days.

A group of ladies is hosting a quilt show and bed turning at the Arlington Fire Station.

"We went to a local town and they had a bed turning, which began our idea of bringing that to Arlington for Arlington Days," said Watson.

Here's the basic idea behind a bed turning.

"We raise the quilts up and let you view them while a speaker tells the story and the history of the quilt," said Debbie Watson.

About 30 quilts will be part of this year's bed turning.

"Some are historical, some are new, some have funny stories," she said.

Quilts will be on display from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, but the actual turning happens at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m..

So you can see the details in the quilts and hear the story behind the quilts.

"We just keep borrowing quilts from more and more people," said Watson.
