Final day of Sturgis Falls

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

Events at the annual Sturgis Falls celebration in Cedar Falls wrapped up Sunday evening.

Good weather and expanded space both helped to encourage a record turnout to this three-day festival.

Sunday's activities included an auction of the items made by chainsaw carvers, kid's activities and a car show, featuring 370 vehicles.

Organizers say that this year has been the most successful Sturgis Falls yet.

"I think the new setup was great. The addition of the parking out here by Gateway is a real nice feature. We added the cart taxis to shuttle people back and forth between the parks,' said Michael Drey.

The festival wrapped up Sunday evening with a musical performance from Checker and the Bluetones and also Bernard Allison performing on the Gateway Park stage.
