Sweet Tooth: Cookie Crave in Cedar Falls

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

Who doesn't love a good cookie? That's the idea behind Jeniffer Rea's home business -- Cookie Crave in Cedar Falls.

"I've been baking since I was 7-8 years old with my grandma. It's a passion of mine," said Jeniffer Rea.

Rea said cookies are where her heart is, thanks to her grandma.

"We made chocolate chip cookies pretty much every Saturday morning. Even if 50 cookies were left from the week before, she'd get butter, sugar and we would do it again," said Rea.

After working in various other jobs, in the fall of 2011, Rea achieved her goal of operating her own baking business.

"I just love being in the kitchen. The part that's really awesome is I get to be with my kids who are school age," she said.

The mom of three said she loves experimenting with flavors and ingredients. This caramel passion cookie with sea salt quickly became a customer favorite. Rea specializes in what she calls cookie catering for special events and occasions.

"So I'll make as many as they need, and I just want each cookie to be perfect and what they want for their event," said Jen Rea.

She recently started making the edible logo cookies. All she needs is a logo emailed to her and she can turn it into a sweet treat.

After finally getting to do what she's always wanted to do for a career, Jeniffer Rea said she's simply having fun at work.
