Black Hawk County juvenile judge reprimanded for drunk driving

Posted:

The Iowa Supreme Court disciplined a Black Hawk County juvenile court judge for a 2010 drunk driving arrest.

The court ruled that Daniel Block, 48, had violated judicial ethics rules serious enough to warrant a reprimand.

Block was arrested for drunk driving in Webster City in November 2010. An open beer can and a glass of whiskey was found in the car. Block pleaded guilty and has completeed a drunken driving education class.

The court ruled that Block violated code of conduct rules designed to protect the integrity of the court. They did say that Block was cooperative throughout and never tried to use his position to change the outcome.
