CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

A Cedar Rapids teen accused of shooting another teen on Thursday afternoon now faces more charges.

Officers were called to the Glenbrook Apartments at 4815 First Avenue Southwest at 3:50 p.m. for a reported shooting.

When they arrived, officers found that 18-year-old Andre Kearney had been shot in the lower torso after getting into an argument with 19-year-old Robert Norris.

Police say that after shooting Kearney, Norris went into the apartment building and slapped 19-year-old Shanise Williams in the head and pushed her.

Kearney was taken to St. Luke's Hospital where he was treated and released.

Norris was initially arrested and charged with simple assault/domestic abuse.

Sergeant Cristy Hamblin says that Norris is also charged with attempt to commit murder, willful injury, going armed with intent and carrying weapons.

If convicted, Norris could face more than 40 years in prison and thousands of dollars in fines.
