UPDATE: 911 service restored in Delaware County

Posted: Updated:
DELAWARE COUNTY (KWWL) -

911 service has been restored in Delaware County.

Officials first reported emergency lines were down around 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning. Delaware County Emergency Management says a cut fiber optic line caused the outage. Emergency lines were down for about five hours.

Mike Ryan with the Delaware County EMA said they asked each fire department to have someone on-site to coordinate emergency services if needed, but everything worked out fine. There were no emergency calls placed to fire departments during the outage.
