CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

The United States Attorney's Office has charged an Oxford Junction woman with disaster benefits fraud.

Jessica Hines, 32, faces one count of disaster benefits fraud for allegedly submitting a fraudulent application following the June 2008 flood.

The indictment, which was unsealed on Wednesday, alleges that Hines falsely claimed she lived in a home that was damaged in the flood.  She also claimed that her personal property was damaged.

If convicted, Hines faces up to 30 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and five years of supervised release.

Hines was released on bond after a court hearing in Cedar Rapids on Wednesday.  Her next appearance is set for July 25.
