WATERLOO (KWWL) -

A Waterloo woman is accused of leaving her two-year-old son home alone.

Heather Klever, 28, was arrested Monday evening after someone reported seeing the boy at the intersection of East Shaulis Road and Weiden Road at around 5:00 p.m. Monday.

Deputies say they called Klever and she returned home.  She told deputies that she left the boy at 7:30 a.m. to wait for the babysitter who was scheduled to arrive at 8:00 a.m.  Klever said she had no way to contact the sitter to make sure she arrived.

The babysitter told deputies that she hasn't talked to Klever in five months and has not taken care of the boy since then.

Klever faces one count of child endangerment.

The Department of Human Services has removed the boy from the home.
