Documenting the Mississippi River

Posted:

A group of canoeist is be making their way past many towns and cities along the Mississippi.

During the next two months, the group of friends is traveling the full length of the Mississippi River from Itasca, Minnesota all the way down to the Gulf of Mexico.

So far, they have gotten as far as Minneapolis, but it's more than a long adventure.  They are working for The Riverview Project, a website that will document the rivers online.

When complete, Riverview will be a permanent photographic record of current conditions from hundreds of America's rivers.

The project will be unveiled later this year.
