Bucks rally against Alexandria falls short

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

A late rally came up just short as the Waterloo Bucks fell to Alexandria on Sunday 7-6.

In a back and forth game, Waterloo's final push wasn't enough as Freddy Villalobos popped out with the bases loaded for the final out of the game.  The loss evened the series against Alexandria 2-2 with the rubber match set for Monday.

Both teams made offensive pushes in a game that featured four lead changes.  Waterloo took control in the 5th with a 3 run effort capped by Sean Borman's RBI double into the right-centerfield gap for a 4-2 advantage.

Alexandria rallied to tie it in the 7th, and took the lead for good in the 8th on David Garcia's RBI single.  They'd get 3 in the inning for a 7-4 lead.  Waterloo's Davis Hendrickson drove in 2 runs in the bottom half of the inning, but the Buck's bases loaded threat in the 9th would get shut down.

The two teams return to action Monday night at Riverfront.
