Iowa unemployment rate jumps slightly in May

Iowa's unemployment rate is holding steady at 5.1 percent. The number of unemployed Iowans was reported at 85,200 in May-- that's up 200 from April.

Despite the increase, the Director of Iowa Workforce Development says that Iowa's economy remains on track for modest growth in the coming months.

The U.S. unemployment rate rose slightly in may to 8.2 percent from 8.1 percent in April.
