Heat hold off Thunder to tie NBA Finals

The Miami Heat jumped out to another quick, double-digit lead Thursday night, only this time they managed to hang on.

LeBron James scored 32 points, Dwayne Wade finished with 24 and Chris Bosh contributed a double-double as the Heat held off Oklahoma City 100-96 to tie the NBA finals at a game a piece.

James helped the Heat clinch the victory by hitting two free throws with seven seconds left after grabbing a rebound of Kevin Durant's potential game-tying shot. Wade bounced back from a miserable shooting performance in Game 1, and Bosh delivered 16 points and 15 rebounds in his return to the starting lineup.

The Heat raced out to an 18-2 lead as Shane Battier drained two of his five three-pointers. Battier finished with 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting.

Kevin Durant and Michael Westbrook combined for just 15 points on 5-of-19 shooting in the first half while the Thunder were falling behind 55-43. Oklahoma City trailed by as many as 17 in the opening half, two nights after falling behind by 13 in the first half of its Game-1 victory.

Durant and Westbrook helped to shoot Oklahoma City back into the game in the second half before the Heat prevailed. Durant paced the Thunder with 32 points, Westbrook had 27 and James Harden scored 17 of his 21 points by intermission.

Game 3 is Sunday at Miami.
