"Immunity Fridays" declared in Cedar Rapids to support RAGBRAI


Mayor Ron Corbett has declared June 22 and July 13 as "Immunity Fridays" in Cedar Rapids to encourage support for RAGBRAI which will be in the city on July 26 and 27.

On "Immunity Friday" everyone is encouraged to wear Cedar Rapids "Survivin' the Ride" t-shirts or bandanas.  Employers are encouraged to allow their employees to participate.

"Cedar Rapids is the best place to hold the 40th celebration of RAGBRAI," Mayor Corbett said in a written statement. "We need support from local residents and businesses to make this big event a success."

Cedar Rapids will be an overnight stop for the 40th Annual Registers Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa on July 26.  The city will also host RAGBRAI's 40th Anniversary celebration with a concert by Counting Crows in downtown Cedar Rapids.

"Survivin' the Ride" t-shirts and bandanas are available online, over the phone and at the Cedar Rapids Area Convention & Visitors Bureau office.
