Governor signs bill with Lake Delhi funding

It's been almost two years since the Lake Delhi disaster. But, late Thursday, landowners and residents at Lake Delhi got some long-awaited good news.

Steve Leonard, President of the Lake Delhi Combined Recreational Facility and Water Quality District, tells KWWL-TV News that Iowa Governor,Terry Branstad, has now signed recently-passed legislation, which guarantees five-million dollars in funding from the State of Iowa to help in the rebuilding of the dam and restoration of the lake.

The legislation calls for the state to award two and a half million dollars for two consecutive years; five million dollars total for the restoration project at Lake Delhi. Private fund-raising efforts have also been quite successful, as residents and landowners look forward to rebuilding of the failed dam and restoration of popular Lake Delhi.
