CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

A flood-damaged house sustained further damage after a fire Wednesday night in Cedar Rapids.

a passerby reported the house-fire to authorities at 10:19 p.m. in the 900 block of 16th Avenue SE.

Fire crews were able to put out the fire because many of the doors and windows were either removed or broken out, allowing crews to extinguish the fire. By the time firefighters were finished battling the blaze, three sides of the home were still standing.

The house has apparently been abandoned since flooding in 2008. There are no reports of any injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and officials say the home did not appear to have any electrical or gas utility services.
