Grassley defeats Sweeney in new House District 50

In Iowa House District 50, Pat Grassley defeated Annette Sweeney in the Republican Primary.

Grassley received 61 percent of the vote to Sweeney's 39 percent.

The two had previously worked side by side as legislators, but thanks to a newly redrawn district map only one of them could be on the ballot in November.

Grassley celebrated the win at his home on Tuesday night.
