Seth Techel
OTTUMWA (KWWL) -
Authorities say the husband of Wapello County Reserve Sheriff's deputy that was found dead in her home on Saturday was not happy in his marriage and was having an affair.
At a news conference on Thursday, authorities said that Seth Techel was having an affair and allegedly told the other woman that "it will all be better in a couple weeks."
Seth Techel was arrested Wednesday night at his wife's visitation and charged with first degree murder and non-consensual termination of a pregnancy. Lisa was five months pregnant at the time of her death.
According to an affidavit released by the sheriff's department on Thursday, Seth called 911 and said his wife had been shot while he was in the shower. A shotgun was found in the yard.
"Everything we would do would lead us back to Mr Techel and it became very obvious he was the perpetrator of the crime," Don Kirkendall, Wapello County Sheriff, said.
