Johnson credits win to caddy Damon Green

Zach Johnson's win at the Crowne Plaza Invitational on Sunday was obviously not his biggest, but it was clearly one of the most emotional.

Johnson was solid down the stretch as he bested Jason Dufner by one stroke to win his first event in nearly 2 years.  He credits a lot of that to his caddy, Damon Green.  Green was on the bag Sunday, just 10 days after losing his father to a battle with cancer.

Afterward Johnson discussed Green's contribution to a big weekend.

"I think he's the one that deserves this one more than I do," Johnson said, "His courage, and certainly his strength to get through the last week, work well this week, stay focused somehow, that's really commendable and I feel very lucky to have him.

"It's been 9 1/2 years and I'm hoping there's 9 1/2 more with him because he is very instrumental in what I'm trying to do, what we're trying to do.  We're a team.  His communication with me this week was spot on.  He never let me get out of the moment, never let me get too ahead of myself.  He's not the most conversational guy, but when he speaks, it means something, so he was awesome."

The win vaulted Zach Johnson to 3rd in the FedEx cup race and 6th in the U.S. Ryder Cup team standings.
