President Obama observes Memorial Day

Across the nation Monday people are remembering the high cost of freedom. President Obama laid a wreath at the tomb of the unknowns. The wreath laying ceremony at Arlington National cemetery is a Memorial Day Tradition.

The President stood at attention while paying tribute to the men and women who sacrificed their lives defending our country.

"And while their stories might be separated by hundreds of years and thousands of miles, they rest here together side by side, row by row, because each of them loved this country more and everything it stand for than life itself," said President Obama.

He also noted this is the first memorial day in nine years that Americans are not fighting in Iraq.
