Gather up your DVDs for the troops

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Two Eastern Iowa businesses are helping support the troops overseas by providing means of entertainment.

VidCycle and Digital Dog Pound have teamed up with the organization "DVDs to The Troops" to aid in the goal of sending 500,000 DVDs overseas.

Used DVDs, CDs and even video games are being collected in boxes at store locations.

They will be shipped to the organization before being sent to currently deployed soldiers.

"Obviously in places where troops are deployed, there's not cable access and they don't have Netflix and Redbox machines," Matthew Schneider, Owner VidCycle said. "DVD is an excellent choice, and it's a low-cost thing that people, if they're not using them, can donate."

Locations participating in the DVD donation include VidCycle in Waterloo and Cedar Falls and Digital Dog Pound in Evansdale, Oelwein and Decorah.
