CR Prairie beats Waterloo West in 3A Boys Substate Soccer


3A Boys substate soccer semifinal round game between Cedar Rapids Prairie and Waterloo West from historic Sloane Wallace Stadium...

The Prairie Hawks start strong-- Spencer Gaddis scores the game's first goal--- Praire leads 1-0 at halftime..

In the second half, the Prairie Hawks' on the move---santiago ortiz has a shot hit the right bar--but Spencer Gaddis gets the rebound for his second goal of the game--Prairie takes a commanding 2-0 lead.

But West battles back---jon milano gets clipped in the box... This sets up a penalty kick for the wahawks' Haris Had-za-lick Scores to put West on the board.

And then with 20 minutes to play in regulation--Antonio Kuykendall scores the equalizer-- West rallies to tie the game at two.

This game would go through two scoreless overtimes ---and come down to penalty kicks.

In an amazing display of kicking both teams make 10 straight penalty kicks a piece.

The Prairie Hawks brought freshman goal keeper Alec Balta off the bench and he comes up big stopping West High's 11th penalty kick attempt by Armin Lulic.
