Walking for the heart

More than 700 people gathered at George Wyth State Park in Waterloo to raise money for the American Heart Association Saturday morning.

It's all part of the annual Cedar Valley Heart Walk. The event raises money that stays in the state, helping Iowans in need of medical attention.

Survivors wore red hats as those who once had from heart conditions.

"It's a number one killer. When you look at stroke, when you look at heart disease, I can't think of anyone who's not been impacted. Whether it be a family member or friend," said Corey Clark, an organizer who has heart disease.

A reminder that even though the walk is over, you can still donate.
