Czech museum assembles 8 foot tall chandelier

Four years after the flood in Cedar Rapids, the relocated National Czech and Slovak Museum & Library unpacked an eight foot tall chandelier Thursday and Friday.

The chandelier was installed in the original museum in 1998, then removed in November of 2010 just prior to the monumental move.

The chandelier was made in Prague and was a gift to the museum.

It weighs more than 400 pounds and consists of 1,000 pieces and 48 light bulbs.

The expanded and relocated National Czech & Slovak Museum and Library will open to the public on Saturday, July 14, 2012.
