Washington nursing home faces fine

A Washington nursing home has been ordered to pay a $15,000 fine for allowing an injured patient to stay on the floor for nearly an hour without help.

Officials say a video recorded the incident at All American Restorative Care. It shows the woman on the floor while workers take part in a Christmas party nearby. Workers apparently asked the woman twice if she was okay, but did not offer to help.

After 46 minutes workers did help the woman back to her bed. She was later taken to the hospital for a cut to the head.  She was treated with four staples.

The home's owner, Jerry Rhoads, is appealing the fine and denies providing substandard care.
