WATERLOO (KWWL) -

The pressure is really mounting for Black Hawk County Sheriff, Tony Thompson. No. It's not some major investigation the Sheriff is working on right now applying the pressure.

Sheriff Thompson has agreed to play golf for 24-hours straight in a May 23 and 24 fundraising event for the Boys Scouts of America called the Birdies by Eagles 24-Hour Golf Marathon.

The 24 hours of golf will take place at the popular Irv Warren Golf Course in Waterloo, starting at 5 pm, Wednesday, May 23. Sheriff Tony Thompson is an Eagle Scout, and will golf the 24 hours, along with fellow Eagle Scout, James Leffler. James is  Fund Development Manager for the Boy Scouts of America.

Pledges are already being taken, in an effort to raise as much money as possible for the Winnebago Council, Boy Scouts of America. The goal is for Sheriff Thompson and James Leffler to play six rounds during the 24-hour period, making at least 4 birdies per round.

You, too, can make a pledge on the website, www.birdiesbyeagles.org  to help out the Winnebago Council, Boy Scouts of America. Farmers State Bank is the Presenting Sponsor for the

Birdies by Eagles 24-Hour Golf Marathon at Irv Warren Golf Course on May 23 and May 24.
