CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

A man was arrested Monday morning after police say he trespassed at a Cedar Rapids school.

Chad Chumley of Cedar Rapids was arrested Monday morning after police say he showed up at Garfield Elementary School after being given a trespass warning for all Cedar Rapids Community School District property. Officers found the 29-year-old at Daniels Park and arrested him.  He is charged with criminal trespass.

Sgt. Cristy Hamblin says officers gave Chumley a verbal "No Trespass Warning" on May 10 after receiving complaints from the school district that Chumley showed at many schools in the district asking questions about their security procedures, information that is not public record.

Also last week, Hamblin says Chumley approached a girl outside a middle school and gave her $20 after telling her he heard she had been a good girl.  The girl went immediately back into the school and told staff.

Over the weekend, police received reports that Chumley was walking around Lindale Mall asking girls for dates.

Hamblin says that other than the trespassing, Chumley has not done anything illegal, he has just made people uncomfortable.

A check of Chumley's record turned up charges for speeding, littering and minor using tobacco.
