The Veterans Freedom Center in Dubuque celebrated its grand "re-opening" Friday
DUBUQUE (KWWL) -
About 150 people turned out for the ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday at the Veterans Freedom Center in Dubuque. It's a non-profit community center for area veterans.
The center opened in the spring of 2011 in downtown Dubuque but moved into a bigger location in December.
Volunteers worked to renovate the space, and Friday marked the center's official completion.
The celebration included the unveiling of a newly-restored 1945 Army jeep, which local veterans groups use for parades and fundraisers.
The center's founders say all the money raised goes to help local veterans.
The Veterans Freedom Center is at 2245 Kerper Boulevard in Dubuque.
