Daniel Power elected President of United Faculty at UNI


United Faculty at the University of Northern Iowa has elected a new President.

United Faculty members elected Waterloo native, Daniel Power, as its new President. United Faculty is the collective bargaining representative for UNI faculty, and a chapter of the American Association of University Professors.

Daniel Power grew up in Waterloo and graduated from Waterloo West High School, The University of Iowa and University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Of his election as President, Power says, UNI is at its best when faculty and administrators can work together for our students and for the people of Iowa."  Power is currently a Professor of Information Systems and management in the University of Northern Iowa's College of Business Administration. Power says, "UNI has an outstanding, diverse, global faculty that is committed to our students."

Power has also served as the Secretary of United Faculty and as Chair of the UNI Faculty Senate. Power joined the UNI Faculty in 1989. He has an MBA and Ph.D. in Management from the University of Wisconsin.

Before coming to UNI in 1989, Power was a tenured Professor at the University of Maryland-College Park.
