FEMA won't help U of I Museum of Arts

The Federal Emergency Management Agency said it still won't fund a replacement for the University of Iowa's flood-damaged art museum.

FEMA ruled the 2008 floods didn't damage the museum enough to qualify for a replacement elsewhere. The university appealed, saying it can't insure art in the current location. Regulations from FEMA show a building is eligible to be replaced if it's not feasible to repair it so that it functions like it had before the flood hit.

State and school officials said they're disappointed with Wednesday's decision and will work together on options.
