An Ely man is accused of sexually abusing a girl at gunpoint in their home.

Linn County Sheriff Brian Gardner says Mathew Eville Brown, 41, is charged with second degree sexual abuse after allegedly holding a gun to the girl's head and forcing her to perform sex acts.

Sheriff Gardner says his office investigated an incident at Brown's home at 2090 Dows Street on April 24.  Brown was originally charged with assault while displaying a dangerous weapon and assault causing bodily injury.  First Assistant Linn County Attorney Nick Maybanks says those charges are still under investigation, but have not been filed yet.

Gardner says that after further investigation, Brown was arrested again on May 4 and charged with second degree sexual abuse.  That charge has been filed.

According to the criminal complaint, Brown held a gun to the victim's head and told her "to do what he wanted or she would be lying on the floor".

Gardner says the investigation continues and believes there may be other victims.
