DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

Dubuque police say they have arrested a man in connection with the investigation into the stabbing of Michael Curran.

Lt. Scott Baxter says that 21-year-old David Kuhlman, was arrested and charged with first degree burglary for his involvement in the home invasion and stabbing of 53-year-old Curran on May 1.

Baxter says that search warrants were executed at Kuhlman's apartment on Sunday.  Officers say they found evidence in both his apartment and vehicle.  They say Kuhlman then confessed to his involvement.

Baxter says that Kuhlman and Curran used to be roommates, and the stabbing is believed to be the result of issues that developed while living together.

Kuhlman faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted.

The investigation continues and police say further charges are possible.
