Black Hawks shut out Lincoln, take 2-1 series lead

Waterloo demoralized Lincoln right out of the gate Saturday night scoring 3 first period goals en route to a 5-0 victory.  The win puts Lincoln against the wall as the Black Hawks took a 2-1 lead in their best of 5 series.

The Black Hawks opened their scoring barrage when Aaron Pearce's shot ricocheted off a defender right to Ryan Papa for his first goal of the night.  Mitch Witek added a wrister soon after for the 2-0 edge.  Papa then picked up the final goal of the period taking a great backhanded pass from Taylor Cammarata for his second of the night.

Witek would add a tally in the 2nd, while Tyler Zapeda notched an empty netter midway through the third.

On the defensive side, Stephon Williams stopped all 23 shots he saw on the night recording the shutout.

The win was the 14th consecutive victory for the Black Hawks inside Young Arena.  Waterloo can close out the series in game 4 on Monday night.
