Dubuque School Board appoints new acting district superintendent

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

In a meeting that lasted just three and a half minutes, the Dubuque school board unanimously voted in favor of appointing Stan Rheingans as acting district superintendent.
This comes after the board voted Monday to consider firing superintendent Larie Godinez, who Tuesday told the district she's taking an indefinite leave of absence.
Rheingans is the district's executive director of human resources and will simultaneously fill both roles as long as the board needs him to do so, he said
Rheingans has worked for the Dubuque Community School District for eight years.
He graduated from Loras College in 1989 with a BA in both history and business administration. He got his masters in education administration from University of Iowa and his advanced studies certificate in educational leadership in superintendency from the University of Northern Iowa.
