Goodwill seeks donations for Customer Appreciation Days

Goodwill of the Heartland in Iowa City is teaming up with OneMain Financial to host Customer Appreciation Days throughout the month of May.

The goal is to collect clothing donations at all OneMain Financial locations to benefit Goodwill of the Heartland. Donations of clothing, household items and other good are critical to the ongoing success of Goodwill industries.

Goodwill sells its donated goods to generate the revenues necessary to help thousands of individuals who face barriers to their daily independence. Goodwill provides a host of vocational programs and community-based programs, including job training, transitional job experience and life skills development.

Goodwill also provides assistance for homeless veterans. Goodwill of the Heartland has 15 stores in 19 counties across southeast Iowa and west central Illinois. Last year alone, Goodwill of the Heartland served more than 6,000 people in its mission to help people live independently.

During May, OneMain Financial branches across the country will be collecting clothing donations for Goodwill Industries. The local donations will benefit Goodwill of the Heartland.

OneMain Financial President and CEO, Mary McDowell, says, "Sharing a like minded vision with Goodwill of the Heartland, OneMain Financial is helping to make the neighborhoods where we do business better places to live and work."
