Iowa farmers have planted half of corn crop

Iowa farmers are making good progress on getting the corn crop planted.

Agriculture officials say farmers took advantage of the dry weather early last week and have now planted 50 percent of the crop.

That's up from just nine percent the previous week.

This is also 10 days ahead of the routine schedule.
