CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -
UNI is moving forward without Price Lab. The progress of this transition was the focus of meeting with a Board of Regents subcommittee.
Dean of the College of Education, Dwight Watson, and University of Northern Iowa President, Ben Allen met with the Education and Student Affairs Committee Wednesday afternoon.
Allen says the transition is where he expected it to be at this point.
The university has been reaching out to area school districts to find between 75 and 85 teachers who are willing to serve as mentor teachers for the coming school year.
"We have so many fine people working hard to make this happen. I know it's been a difficult challenge, but I'm so proud that these people are working so hard to make it happen," said Allen.
Those opposed to the closing of Price Lab and other cuts at UNI are expected to protest outside of Maucker Union Thursday morning.
