NBA's World Peace suspended

Metta World Peace Metta World Peace

The Lakers forward Metta World Peace, formerly known as Ron Artest, has some free time on his hands while his team prepares for the opening round of the NBA playoffs.

The league has suspended World Peace for seven games for his vicious elbow to the head of Oklahoma City's James Harden. He'll sit out Thursday's regular-season finale and the Lakers next six games.

If the Lakers should somehow get swept out in the first round, he'd serve the remainder of the suspension at the start of next season.

Meanwhile, Harden has yet to receive medical clearance to resume playing after suffering a concussion from the blow.
