Dayton jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the third when Juan Perez hit a two RBI double down the right field line.

The Kernels cut the Dragons lead in half in the fifth inning when Ryan Jones hit an RBI single, scoring Andy Workman.

The Kernels would then take the lead in the sixth.  Trevor Hairgrove scored on from second bas on a Ryan Jones single.  Kaleb Cowart would score all the way from first on the same play when Dragons right fielder Kyle Waldrop committed a fielding error.

Dayton tied the game at 3-3 in their half of the sixth when Waldrop scored on a Yovan Gonzalez single.

But the seventh inning proved to be the end for Kernels.  Nine players came up to bat for the Dragons in that inning.  Five of them scored making it 8-3 Dayton.
