Hollywood stars adopting schools including a Des Moines school

Some big name stars are signing up for a new initiative with the Obama administration to adopt failing schools. Sarah Jessica Parker, Kerry Washington and Forest Whitaker are all signing up to turn schools around by integrating arts education throughout the schools.
Monday the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities will announce the two year school adoption program called Turnaround Arts initiative. It will start with eight low-performing, high poverty elementary and middle schools. They are Des Moines, Iowa, New Orleans, Denver, Boston, Washington, Portland, Ore., Bridgeport, Conn., and Lame Deer, Mont.
