UNI softball falls to MSU in extras

For 7 innings, UNI's Jamie Fisher kept Missouri State off the scoreboard, but 1 run in the 8th was the difference as the Bears shut out the Panthers 1-0 in extra innings.

Fisher tossed a complete game allowing six hits, striking out nine batters, and allowing just one run.  Missouri State's Natalie Rose was equal to the task allowing just one hit in the complete game shutout.

The Bears scored the only run of the game as Ashley Brentz scored on a base hit by Ashley Duckworth in the top of the 8th inning.

Missouri State's victory snapped UNI's 12 game home winning streak.  The first place Panthers dropped to 17-2 in Missouri Valley Conference play.
