PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. (KWWL) -

A group from the tri-states will be deployed to Afghanistan later this year, according to our partners at the Telegraph Herald.

The Wisconsin Army National Guard Engineering Company based in Praire du Chien and Platteville will be going overseas in the fall.

The 229th Engineer Company will be training this summer at Fort McCoy, Wis. before heading to Afghanistan in September. The deployment is expected to last about nine months.
