UI Police investigating attempted cell phone robberies

University of Iowa police say they are investigating two reports of attempted cell phone robberies from Wednesday on the east side of campus.

Police say in one report, the person said they were walking along Market Street at around 2:10 p.m. when two men tried to grab the cell phone out of the victim's hand.  The suspects are described as two black men wearing hooded sweatshirts and sunglasses.  University of Iowa police would like to talk to the person who made this report.

In the second incident, the victim reported walking under the railroad overpass along the Iowa River near Danforth Chapel when a light skinned black male wearing a gray pullover hooded sweatshirt, dark khaki cargo pants, and white tennis shoes tried to grab the cell phone out of the victim's hand.  This incident happened at around 3:10 p.m. Wednesday.
