DENVER, Colo. (KWWL) -

Father Time may be catching up with Jamie Moyer, but the San Diego Padres couldn't catch up to the crafty left-hander last night in hitter-friendly Coors Field.

The Rockies 49-year-old threw seven efficient innings in Colorado's 5-3 victory, becoming the oldest pitcher to ever win a major league contest.

"Oh, it's my life; it's pretty much all I know, and it's pretty much all I've done my whole life, and uh, you know I'm still able to live the dream, and I still believe I have a passion for the game, and it's a special night for me," said Moyer.

Moyer is 1-2 this year after missing all of last season while recovering from Tommy John ligament replacement surgery.

His 268th career win ties Jim Palmer for 34th on the all-time list.
